Wat Pha Lat is a public temple under the Maha Nikaya group of monks. Located in Suthep Subdistrict. Mueang Chiang Mai District Chiang Mai Province The name of Wat Pha Lat comes from the word Pha Loet because landowners followed elephants along the streams and waterfalls. Then many people slipped and fell. Some say that elephants are slippery too. When the temple was established, it was named after the waterfall. The name of the temple appears in legendary documents and chronicles. It has a history with Phra That Doi Suthep. It is recorded that during the reign of King Kue Na He brought the relics of the Buddha that Phra Maha Sumon Thera brought from Sukhothai and mounted them on the back of an elephant to be enshrined at Doi Suthep when he stopped to rest in the Pha Lat area. Formerly an abandoned temple, the Ministry of Education announced its cancellation as a temple with monks on March 2, 1981. It was renovated. revived To have the status of a temple and a place to practice Dhamma Important buildings include a chedi made of Burmese art from the Kruba Sriwichai period. The temple was built in the period of Kruba Srivichai by Burmese craftsmen. The ancient base is on the southeastern side of the pagoda. Important sacred objects include a Buddha image made of Burmese art. The temple also has a well that has been built overlapping over the ages and an old pavilion.
